Except for new churches that need to bond first with sister churches of their own denomination or association, plan occasional inter-church events such as:

Find in John 17:20-23 what Jesus asked His Father to do for the people in His churches.

Find in Psalm 133 how God wants his people to relate to each other.

Find in the book of Hosea how God wants his people who are divided to forgive and reconcile their differences. How does this apply today?

Find out from others what are the inter-church activities that you might participate in?

• Check out church associations, pastors' networks, prayer summits, cooperative outreaches.
• If you see a vacuum, start a simple association to deal with a commonly felt need among churches.
• Pray for the other churches of your area briefly, by name, during your weekly public worship. For example, you might pray for one or more of them each time. Don't go through the list all at once.
• Who among your people could serve as liaisons with such efforts?
• Which of your people could flourish in a cooperative ministry effort?
• Ask such people to investigate the ministry and make a recommendation to you.
