Section 03:
FOREIGN MISSIONS, Advanced Level 3c
03 3c: Train businessmen and bi-vocational workers for hostile areas
Find among members of your church and acquaintances candidates for bivocational ministry.
- Give preference to vocations that allow one to mix with the common people. Normally these are related to low capital, low technology, labor-intensive enterprises or development work.
- Teaching English in fields of restricted access, while effective for witnessing on an individual basis, has not proven very effective for starting indigenous, reproductive churches. There are many restrictions on university campuses, students are transient and opportunities to mix with the working class--normally the most responsive in a pioneer field--are limited. It might be the only door that God opens, however, so do not hesitate to do it if that is the way He leads.

Find in Acts 18 an example of a bivocational model (a married couple), and how they discipled a less experienced leader behind the scenes.
Find in Romans 16:3 and 1 Corinthians 16:19 in what other areas besides Corinth they also started house churches.
