Form new groups through evangelism.

• Let some of these be simply "gathering groups" like the group that assembled in Cornelius' house in Acts 10.
• Encourage new believers, especially heads of families, to gather their relatives and friends for meetings.
• Do not outnumber them with older Christians.
• Disciple these new leaders behind the scenes.
• Keep things at the level of those who come.

Do not multiply home groups by dividing them in two. Simply let new leaders, after a time of apprenticeship, form their own groups, mainly through evangelism.

Let the men and women of a parent group continue to disciple younger or newer believers who have joined a new group, at another time.

Have the daughter groups continue to meet occasionally for joyful celebration with the mother group.

Provide care for the children of several groups together when necessary.

Find in Acts 10:24 the type of group that was assembled and who was the catalyst who brought them together (it was an exclusive meeting).

• Notice in the context that Peter and his fellow believers did their evangelism where they were not in control.

Find in 2 Timothy 2:2 a principle that applies to the multiplication of home groups.

Find in Mark 3:13-18 to what Jesus compares normal growth and reproduction of the church.

Ensure that you always have current information on who are the small group leaders and who are their apprentices.

• Make clear what are the skill and maturity qualifications for all new group leaders.
• Learn from your group leaders, at regular intervals, how their apprentices are shaping up.

Ensure that every small group reports to those who coordinate them:

• Apparent conversions,
• Who were the new believers' contact persons in the group.
• To whom are they related?
• Where do they live?
• Constantly watch for patterns for spreading the gospel.
• Decide on the basis of this information when and where apprentice group leaders will be assigned to new groups.
