11 1a: Teach and practice stewardship in all areas of life

Teach your people to be stewards of all God has given them, of their Treasure, Time and Talents.

Find in Luke 6:38 a similar truth about giving.

*Find in Acts 5:1-11 how God punished believers when they lied to Him. What does this teach us about motives for giving?

*Find in Exodus chapters 16 - 17 with what attitude we are to receive what God provides.

Find how your people think about finances and giving.

Giving and receiving are a part of every culture; people already know how to give.
If you work cross-culturally, then use interview methods to learn about local giving patterns, periodicity, objects, and reasons.
Most people are generous to persons and causes they believe require their support.
Query the followers about how they would finance various ministries they hold to be important, then suggest they do so. They will find a way.
If you are wealthier than the followers, then be careful not to create any situations in which they become dependent on you to provide for their needs or to support projects.
