Offer wholesome alternative activities for your people on special days that are normally celebrated in by drinking alcohol or worshipping idols, etc.

• Plan events that will attract unconverted friends.
• Be prepared for births, deaths, marriages, community functions and special dedications.

Prepare a master calendar for the congregation and include social events.

• If you work cross-culturally, then you may have to ask local people what the social events are.
• Find out the main events and personalities of their history, and their contemporary significance.
• Many foreigners living in other countries have never cared to ask or just did not care, which becomes very offensive when they influence the churches.
