What Jesus’ Death Does for Us

Jesus said that he “came not to be served but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mk 10.45).

Here are 14 ways in which Jesus' death benefits us.
  1. We are alive to God (Rom 6.10-11).
  2. He cancelled our debt (Col 2.14).
  3. We have forgiveness of sins (Eph 1.7; Rev 1:5).
  4. We enjoy fellowship with God (1 Jn 1.7).
  5. He became a curse for us (Gal 3.13).
  6. He inaugurated the New Covenant (Luke 22.20; 1 Cor 11.25; Heb 9.15).
  7. We are justified by grace (Rom 3.23-25).
  8. God loves us (Rom 5.8).
  9. We enjoy newness of life (Rom 6.3-4).
  10. We are at peace with God (Col 1.20).
  11. He purifies our conscience (Heb 9.14).
  12. He reconciled us with God (Rom 5.10; Eph 2.16; Col 1.22).
  13. He sanctified us once for all (Heb 10.10).
  14. He secures the power of God (1 Cor 1.18).
