State the vision in terms of attainable objectives with short and long range plans, and publicly monitor progress toward them.

• Continually encourage and publicly recognize work done by the members of your church that moves toward realizing the vision.
• Pray for workers for the harvest.
• Continually share your vision in private and public, of God raising up workers for new ministries.
• Pastors who are used mightily by God hold a high view of the potential of their congregation; they believe that God has, as His Word says, gifted many for service and they are eager to release them for different ministries.
• Do not dwell on the past, whether the good old days or the bad old days. Make sure that everyone in the church sees clearly what God is doing now and, by faith, in the future, and what their place is in it.
• Continually delegate pastoral responsibilities, including to persons who cannot do things as well as you do. They will learn. Give them the authority, in turn, to delegate responsibilities to still others.
• One of the best ways to delegate authority is by commissioning new home group leaders and equipping them with the skill and authority to commission other leaders whom they apprentice.
• Do not fear disloyalty. Most new leaders will be so grateful for your encouragement and the open door, that they will not violate your trust. On the other hand, if you bottle up others' spiritual gift of leadership, you invite inevitable disloyalty.

• Find out from your staff members and from lay leaders what have been the faithful service and ministry exploits of other members whom they know.
• Write down in a calendar when, where, and how those will be honored or recognized.
