Section 03:
FOREIGN MISSIONS, Advanced Level 3b
03 3b: Care for missionaries, including single women
Name an Advocate (agent, helper, big brother/sister) in your church for each missionary from the church. They are to:
- communicate with them,
- report their needs,
- meet them at the airport when they return for furlough,
- see that they are cared for during furlough, etc. ,
- listen to each member of his/her family, to know what their needs and feelings are,
- provide the needed companionship and care.
Do not 'fuss' over missionaries in public; let them relax.

Find in Acts 13:1-3 and 14:24-24 guidelines for preserving a good relationship between missionaries and their sending church(es)
Find in 2 Corinthians 8 evidence of real loving concern on the part of a church for mission workers.

What are your missionaries needs?
- Many are hesitant to tell you about any need except money.
- Anyone that has threatened Satan's territory will suffer attacks from the enemy again oneself, one's spouse, one's children.
- Any of those who work cross-culturally have suffered culture stress and emotional disturbances – it is part of the price every good missionary pays for the privilege of representing Christ.
- Interview each returning missionary in private about how they might be willing to let your people provide help, percepts some "member care" services.
