12 2d: Relate stories of Scripture as foundations for all Christian doctrine

Prepare your people learn doctrine the biblical way by laying the historical foundations first.

When Paul wrote the very philosophical book of Romans, he obviously assumed that his readers already knew the historical accounts of Adam, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, the giving of the law and its failure later on. We rob our people of a blessing and of full understanding if we teach Romans or any of the other highly doctrinal Bible books without first laying the historical foundation by relating the stories.
Develop a repertoire of Bible stories that lay the foundations for every major doctrine, church ministry and Christian responsibility.
These stories can for the most part be easily and briefly acted out. To hold the attention of all ages some of the participants should be adults and others children.

For Bible stories, locate the Bible passages with a star (*) by them under the sword icons.

*Find in Luke important events in the life of Jesus upon which vital Christian doctrines are based.

*Find in Genesis chapters 12 - 19 several important things that Abraham did that displayed his trusting relationship with God and made him the biblical model of faith.

*Find in Genesis 12:1-3 & 7-9 God's promise to Abraham, and its effects for us today.

*Find in Genesis 12:10-20 Abraham's foolish lie.

*Find in Genesis 13:1-18 how Abraham avoided a quarrel with his nephew.

*Find in Genesis 14:1-24 how Abraham freed his nephew.

*Find in Genesis 15:1-21 what Abraham did, that God considered him to be just, what God promised.

*Find in Genesis 18:1-15 why Sarah laughed and what the angel said about it.

*Find in Genesis 18:16-33 how Abraham saved his nephew again.

*Find in Genesis 19:1-29 what happened to some very bad folks.

Find out what Old Testament and New Testament Bible portions exist in the language of the people.
Who own the copyrights?
Will they reprint enough for the need of your work and of others'?
Would they do so with a subsidy from your organization?
What is the readability of the existing portions? Is a revision required?
Who can do a revision? Or, better, who can train your people to do that?
