Teach your potential leaders what disciple making is, from a New Testament viewpoint.

• Discipling starts with teaching people to obey Jesus' commands, then embraces the whole gamut of Scripture and the Christian life
• Discipling is not building foundations in basic doctrine (that is part of it, once we establish the foundation of loving obedience).
• Discipling is not just for new believers; Jesus discipled the top leaders of the church--the very apostles.
• Discipling is not "one on one". Jesus discipled one on 12 for the most part.
• Normally disciple makers are prepared best in home groups or groups small enough for each participant to be listened to. There is more time for interaction and more opportunity for varieties of ministry.
